Last updated 14 September 2026. Deleting your account is self-service, immediate and irreversible. You do not need to write to anybody or wait for us — but this page says exactly what happens first, so nothing about it is a surprise.
A draft, not settled legal text. This page was written by the people who build DuoDesk so that there is something honest and specific for a lawyer to correct, rather than a blank page or somebody else's boilerplate. It has not been reviewed by one. Read it as a description of how we intend to behave; the reviewed version will replace it before it is relied on.
The account is the same one wherever you signed in, so deleting it in any one place deletes it everywhere. Pick whichever you are in front of:
Deletion is confirmed the same way signing in is. We send a six-digit code to your account's email address, and you type it back. If your account has no email — some do not — you confirm with your password instead. In the browser you also type your nickname, so a wrong tab cannot delete the wrong account. There is no undo and no grace period: when it is done, it is done, and we say so in those words before you confirm.
If a paid plan is running when you delete, deleting cancels it at once and refunds the unused part of the period to the card, worked out to the day — the same rule for a monthly plan and a yearly one. Within fourteen days of your first payment the whole of that first payment comes back, as the refund policy already promises. A plan sitting on an unpaid or declined invoice is cancelled and the invoice voided, so there is nothing to refund; a plan you were given by a discount code cost nothing, so nothing comes back. The money returns to the card that paid, and Stripe then takes five to ten days to settle it, which is the card network's pace and not ours.
Deleted at once, in one step: your email address, nickname and password, your sign-in codes, the machines you told to skip the code, two-factor and any Google or Microsoft sign-in link, your API tokens and webhooks, unattended-access enrolments, alerts, your team memberships, and every feedback message you have sent us.
Kept, and only for a reason we can name:
An account that is the sole admin of a team that still has other members cannot be deleted out from under them. Hand the team over to somebody else, or delete the team, and then delete your account. A team with no other members goes with the account.
If you have lost the mailbox and the password both, and cannot get into the app or the site to do this yourself, write to us from the email address on the account. We will confirm it is yours and delete it for you. This is the one route that does not need you to sign in; it is slower than the button, because a person answers it.
